Glass, fabric or wooden ornaments
Ornaments made of different materials behave differently from the first season — and even more so in the second.
Glass
The finest sparkle and the deepest colour, but also the most fragile option — a fall to the floor is usually final. Pack separately from other ornaments.
Fabric and velvet
Fabric bows, tree skirts, hats and tiaras do not break or lose shape when packed, but they absorb smells and moisture — keep them somewhere dry, not in a cellar or garage.
Wood
Wooden figures and decorative pieces are the heaviest and the most resistant to drops, and keep their shape for years — but they have weight: don’t hang several heavy wooden ornaments on a thin branch.
